Class Description: This American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED certification class will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. This class meets OSHA/workplace requirements and meets the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential.

  • Adult, Child and Infant CPR
  • How to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Conscious and Unconscious Choking
  • Basic First Aid including burns; cuts; head, neck and back injuries and more

Duration: 1.5 hour class time + 2.5 hours online = 4 hours total

Certification: 2 year American Red Cross certificate (issued same day)

Online Course: This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion.

Class Description: 

This instructor-led American Red Cross CPR certification class incorporates the latest science and teaches you how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). This class meets OSHA/workplace CPR requirements and meets the CPR requirement for the California Teaching Credential.

Class Description: American Red Cross BLS certification is designed to train Healthcare Providers to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant victims with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes.

Class Duration: 2 hours

Certification: 2 year American Red Cross BLS certificate (issued same day)

Online Course: This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion.

 

Class Description: The American Red Cross BLS Review class is designed to give individuals the opportunity to review the course content within a formal class setting. The format optimizes a participant’s ability to successfully compete the knowledge and skill evaluation.

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in a review course, participants must possess a current healthcare provider-level American Red Cross certificate (or equivalent certifcate such as AHA BLS). Those without a current BLS certificate may not participate in the review course option.

Class Duration: 2 hours

Certification: 2 year American Red Cross BLS certificate (issued same day)

 

Description: The purpose of the American Red Cross BLS Challenge is to give individuals the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and skill competency outside a formal class setting. Participants have sole responsibility to prepare for the knowledge and skill evaluations and the final written exam. Anyone is eligible to participate in a challenge, regardless of current certification.

Duration: 30-40 minutes

Certification: 2 year American Red Cross BLS certificate (issued same day)

Note: This course is only offered at our Orange and San Diego locations.

Class Description: This American Heart Association BLS certification class is Instructor-led and teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.

Duration: This class is approximately 3.5 hours.

Certification: 2 year American Heart Association BLS certificate (issued same day)

Manual: The BLS Provider Manual is required for the class. Participants may bring their own manual or purchase an ebook online for $14.50.

 

Class Description: The American Heart Association BLS Renewal course is for currently certified AHA BLS Providers needing to renew their BLS certification. Those without a current AHA BLS certificate may not participate in the renewal.

Duration: This class is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.

Certification: 2 year American Heart Association BLS certificate (issued same day)

Manual: The BLS Provider Manual is required for the class. Participants may bring their own manual or purchase an ebook online for $14.50.

 

Course Description: American Heart Association HeartCode BLS is a blended learning course that combines eLearning (online course) followed by a hands-on skill session with an instructor.

This class has 2 parts:

  • Part 1 - A self-paced series of online training modules (30 minutes - 2 hours)
  • Part 2 - Skills practice & test session at our facility (30 - 45 minutes)

Certification: 2 year American Heart Association BLS certificate (issued same day as your skills check)

Required Online Course: Prior to the skills check session, you MUST complete the online course thru the AHA eLearning website for $28.50 (payable to the AHA when you sign up for the online course). You will be required to show proof of completion (on your phone or printed) when you come to class. Those who have not completed the online course will not be able to continue in the class - NO EXCEPTIONS.

Class Description: This American Red Cross Instructor course provides instructor candidates with the skills and knowledge to teach the American Red Cross basic-level First Aid, CPR and AED courses.

Prerequisites: 

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Possess current basic-level American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED certification or equivalent.
  • Complete an online orientation to the American Red Cross.
  • Complete the online First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Precourse for $37 thru the ARC learning center.

Duration: 12 hours

Certification: American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, valid for 2 years

Required Online Pre-Course: Prior to the in-class date, all participants must complete an online pre-course thru the Red Cross Learning Center. The Red Cross fee for the online course is $37 which in addition to the class fee.

Note: You will not be able to continue in the class if you have not completed the online pre-course by the class start date.

 

Class Description: 

This American Red Cross Lifeguarding course includes comprehensive training in water rescues, CPR/AED and first aid skills. 

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 15 years.
  • Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, and exit the water without using steps or a ladder.

Certification Requirements: 

  • Complete the required Online Course before the first day of class.
  • Attend and participate in all class sessions and activities.
  • Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
  • Pass the final skills scenarios.
  • Successfully pass a final written exam with a minimum grade of 80%.

Certification: 

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years.

 

Class Description: This American Red Cross Instructor course provides instructor candidates with the skills and knowledge to teach the American Red Cross Lifeguarding courses.

Prerequisites: 

  • Be at least 17 years old
  • Possess a current Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Complete the online Lifeguard Instructor course for $37 thru the ARC learning center (before the first day of class)
  • Pass two rescue skill scenarios that test lifeguarding and CPR (on the first day of class)

Certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, valid for 2 years

Required Online Pre-Course: Prior to the in-class date, all participants must complete an online pre-course thru the Red Cross Learning Center. The Red Cross fee for the online course is $37 which in addition to the class fee.

Note: You will not be able to continue in the class if you have not completed the online pre-course by the class start date.

 

Class Description: The Lifeguard Instructor/Instructor Trainer Review course is the required course for all Lifeguard Instructors and Instructor Trainers to re-certify in the r.17 American Red Cross course.

The Lifeguarding Instructor/Instructor Trainer Review course includes:

  • Lifeguarding Program Review
  • Administrative Updates/Information
  • Written Exam
  • Skill Practice and Polish Session including in-water skills, drills and Multiple-Rescuer Response scenarios

Certification Issued: Upon successful completion of the review course, the Lifeguard Instructor or Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certification will be renewed for 2 years.

 

Class Description: 

The Lifeguarding Review is for currently certified lifeguards to review skills and renew their certification.

Eligibility:

Currently certified lifeguards with valid certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED or those who have not expired by more than 30 days. If your certification has expired by more than 30 days, you are required to complete the full Lifeguarding course.

Prerequisites:

  • Provide proof of valid Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification or certification that has not expired by more than 30 days.
  • Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breaststroke.
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.
